Model Nuclear Weapons Convention

An international team of scientists, lawyers, and disarmament specialists drafted and released a Model Nuclear Weapons Convention (NWC) in April 1997. This model was submitted by Costa Rica to the United Nations as a discussion draft in November 1997.

Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

Canberra Commission on the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons

August, 1996

The Canberra Commission on the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons was established as an independent commission by the then Australian Government in November 1995 to propose practical steps towards a nuclear weapon free world including the related problem of maintaining stability and security during the transitional period and after this goal is achieved.
